Who Are We

Founded in 1915 and headquartered in Indianapolis Indiana.  Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service - and community - minded men and women who support children and young adults worldwide. More than 8,000 Kiwanis clubs in more than 70 countries make their mark by responding to the needs of their community and pooling their resources to address worldwide issues.  Through these efforts, Kiwanis International is Serving the Children of the World".

The Emerald Empire Kiwanis Club

The Emerald Empire Kiwanis Club found in 1954, has a history of over of over 50 years of service to our local communities. Each year we assess community needs and match those needs to our interests and resources. We annually participate in more than 50 community service activities that benefit individuals and organizations in Eugene and surrounding communities. Our service projects often follow the International emphasis of Serving the Children of the World by focusing on the youth of our community.  However, our projects cover the needs of all members of our community.  Recent activities include: sponsorship of the Lane County High School Choral Festival, sponsoring 3 high school and a college service clubs, recognition of outstanding high school seniors, Helping at the Science Factory, serving at the Eugene Soup Kitchen ( The Dining Room), helping on Habitat for Humanity houses and driving cancer patients to their treatment appointments.

We meet on Thursdays at noon at the Eagles Lodge at the intersection of Irving Rd. and the North West Expressway.  All people who are interested in joining a group of individuals dedicated to giving service to our community and the world are invited to attend a meeting to see what and who we are.  Your first meal is on us!
